Some sections of Highway 17 are so dangerous that they have been nicknamed. The first long sweeping turn North of Summit Road with its sharp angle and steep entering downhill slope is called “The Valley Surprise” for the fact that so many strike the median shortly after having entered the Santa Clara Valley.
Our double IPA, Valley Surprise, is just as exhilarating as its namesake. After being greeted with pleasant aromas of citrus and dank pine, a light malt backbone yields to the onslaught of hops that will make your palate beg for mercy. Flavors of tropical fruit, pine, and citrus finally give way to a bitter yet balanced finish. Hold on tight, because this ride is full of surprises!
